All students participating in athletics at Crestview are students first. All student athletes must maintain a C average in their coursework while participating in any sport. Grade checks will be performed by the Athletic Director and the administration to determine eligibility of athletes for games. The grade checks will be conducted every three weeks. A student having a failing grade or two D’s at a grade check will be suspended for a minimum of one athletic contest. If a student is on suspension, the student may become eligible by increasing their grades to an acceptable level. If the student fails to increase grades to the eligibility level by the second grade check, the athletic director, coaches and administrators will determine if the student may be allowed to continue to practice with the team, but not participate in games.
Students that receive a failing grade at a grade check point, but have been out due to medical or family emergency related situations, may be allowed to participate in games until the next grade check. If the student does not raise grades to a satisfactory level at the second check, then game suspensions will ensue until grades reach the eligibility level.
