Kristin Schaefer • School Leader
Mrs. Schaefer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education K-12 and Elementary Education K-8 from Arizona State University. Her Masters in Educational Leadership was obtained from Northern Arizona University.
While working for The Leona Group for more than a decade, Mrs. Schaefer has served as a special education teacher, director of special education, the assistant school leader, and now school leader at Crestview College Preparatory High School.
Mrs. Schaefer believes the foundation of student success is building positive relationships with students in a safe and challenging environment.

Mike Seiler • Assistant School Leader
Mr. Seiler has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Montana. He holds a Post-Bacc teaching certification and an extended B.A in History from Montana State University Billings. Mr. Seiler has an extensive background teaching secondary education. In his free time he enjoys fly-fishing and white water rafting.

Jennifer Gardner • Mathematics • email
Ms. Gardner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from State University of New York at Geneseo and completed a dual certification in Mathematics Secondary Education. She completed her Masters Degree in Deaf Education from Rochester Institute of Technology. After working for six months as an itinerant teacher for the Deaf and hard of hearing she relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Ms Gardner has been teaching at Crestview College Preparatory High School since January of 2010.

Ms. Hansen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology and Physiology from Arizona State University and has taken the Medical School entrance exam (MCAT). She has a passion for science and medicine and believes in teaching how to think, reason and investigate in order to answer questions instead of just memorizing materials and regurgitating them. She has taught adult Education in Mesa as well as been a substitute teacher for many years in the valley. Having raised two children in the Charter School system, she is well aware of the benefits that a Charter School has for students and is pleased to be a part of the Crestview College Preparatory team.

Mr. John Hatch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from U.C.L.A., a Master’s in English from San Francisco State University and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University. He is a former College Guidance Director and Principal with over thirty five years of teaching and administrative experience. He has been with The Leona Group for nine years.

Mr. Hubbard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences. After peer teaching in chiropractic college and at the university level, Mr. Hubbard is in his third year teaching science at Crestview, and is also the head football coach and boys basketball coach for the Knights.

Ms. Shelley Jiles earned her B.F.A. from Northern Michigan University in 2003. After graduation Ms. Jiles spent 4 years teaching in Charlotte, NC. She then relocated to Phoenix, AZ and has been teaching at Crestview since 2010. Ms. Jiles enjoys acting and theater in her spare time, and she was recently nominated by the AriZoni awards for Best Supporting Actress.
Emily Krogman • French Instructor • email
Ms. Krogman recently received a Bachelor of Arts in French Languages, Literature and Culture along with a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Colorado State University. While in high school, Miss Krogman enjoyed a year abroad in Paris, France, sparking her interest in languages and cultures. She strives to enhance the international understanding of students at Crestview by expanding their knowledge of francophone languages and cultures.

Mrs. Holly McMichael is a native Arizonian and graduate of Arizona State University. She has a B.A.E. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. She has 18 years experience teaching grades 3-8 under her belt in all school settings from public to private to charter. Mrs. McMichael has four children with her oldest and only daughter a graduate student at her rival University of Arizona studying molecular and cellular biology. Her oldest son is a graduate of Scottsdale Culinary and is currently a chef in Mesa. The son next in line is currently attending PVCC in general studies and her youngest is an avid baseball player in middle school. Working out, reading on the beach, baking, holding babies at church, traveling, and watching movies are just a few of her many treasured pass-times during her off-time and summer months.

Mr. O’Neill graduated from Prescott College in 1994 with a Bachelors degree in Social Studies and Education. In his seventeenth year in the classroom, he has taught for several systems in a variety educational settings throughout the United States and has served as an assistant principal at two other schools. This is his 6th year with Leona Group and his second year at Crestview College Preparatory High School. His passions include acting, living history, classic automobiles, and writing/researching about the Old West.

Mrs. McDow is originally from Milwaukee, WI where she attended the University of Wisconsin to earn her B.F.A. degree. After moving to Phoenix, she received a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Arizona State University and later attended Rio Salado College to earn her Certification for K-12 Art. Mrs. McDow has been teaching art since 2004, primarily at the middle school level. Her family includes a husband who works as an electrical engineer at Honeywell, a son attending Grand Canyon University and a daughter attending Thunderbird High School. Mrs. McDow enjoys activities related to the fine arts and hanging out with family in her free time.
